MARIO MONTOYA

Mario oversees Windforce on a macro level, driving the business strategy and focuses on investment architecture.

Mario is an alumni of Renaissance Technologies, a premier quantitative hedge fund. At Renaissance, Mario managed multi-billion dollar option strategies as well as exposure management and merger arbitrage portfolios. Prior to Renaissance he worked for a full service money manager in NYC, BEA Associates which had niche businesses in derivatives management and international investing. Mario became a partner in the derivatives group with marketing, research and portfolio management responsibilities on assets of over $10 billion. BEA was acquired by Credit Suisse.

Mario graduated from University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business with concentrations in Finance and Actuarial Science.

JASON STEIN

As a Managing Partner at Windforce, Jason evaluates startups, negotiates investment terms, and mentors entrepreneurs. He also leads the research of the current and future industry state.

Jason is the Founder and President of Laundry Service, a social media agency based in Manhattan that specializes in B2B technology companies, start-ups, and consumer brands. Since founding Laundry Service five years ago, Jason has spent his days and nights immersed in the modern media landscape, developing and overseeing the implementation of digital strategies, social media and mobile marketing programs, apps, websites and original content. Jason has successfully navigated the social media terrain, building Laundry Service from scratch into a multi-million dollar Madison Avenue agency. Jason writes a column for Digiday, and serves on the Advisory Board of Middleberg Communications.

Jason went to NYU and lives in Brooklyn with his wife. He is an experienced commercial director, watches a lot of basketball, and spends too much time on Twitter as @jasonwstein.

MICHOEL OGINCE

As a Founding & Managing Partner, Michoel leads the evaluation of the startup ecosystem and future industry trends. Michoel is responsible for identifying promising startups, devising investment strategies and mentors portfolio companies on product development, marketing strategy and business operations.

Michoel is Director of Platform and Product Strategy at social media agency Big Fuel, where he leads Social Labs, the agency's innovation nerve center. Tasked with evaluating emerging social technologies for global Fortune 500 companies, he provides innovative and effective solutions for brands in the social space. He also leads the development of the company's proprietary software. Michoel is an advisor at Social iQ Networks, Video Genie and SocialChorus and is a frequent speaker at social media technology conferences and events.

Michoel was born in South Africa, raised in Australia and has traversed the globe. He is an ordained Rabbi, outdoor enthusiast and coffee connoisseur. He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife, daughter and son.

WAIMAN LEUNG

At Windforce Waiman plays an active role in portfolio construction, acquisition valuation and investment decisions.

Waiman is a founding partner at LyonRoss Capital Management, a New York based hedge fund, where he manages and develops quantitative trading strategies. Prior to LyonRoss, Waiman was a portfolio manager at BEA Associates, which was a 60 billion dollar money manager when it was acquired by Credit Suisse. At BEA/Credit Suisse he managed portable alpha strategies for large institutional clients including Alcoa, Calpers, Ford, UPS and the Rockefeller Foundation. Waiman started his career at Lehman Brothers as an equity research analyst followed by trading in the options pit of the Coffee Coca and Sugar Exchange.

Waiman graduated Magna Cum Laude from NYU with a BA in Economics where he was also an All American Fencer. He grew up in Brooklyn and now lives in TriBeCa and works very hard at maintaining a single digit handicap. Waiman is also an avid photographer and for unknown reasons owns three PS3s.

BRIAN SULLIVAN

At Windforce Brian evaluates potential investments and plays an active role in helping startups identify and establish strategic relationships for new business development.

Brian is the Founder and Executive Producer at Movie Loft Productions, a content agency that specializes in the production and distribution of TV shows. Brian's work is found on the nation’s leading cable networks, on demand services, the social web and Internet. Prior to the television industry experience Brian held high-level investment banking positions with Equitable Securities in NY.

Brian graduated from St. Johns University with a degree in Marketing and Economics. He lives with his wife and three children in Long Island, NY.

    The Boulder-based company is currently developing a mobile app for the iPhone/iOS platform using sophisticated proprietary semantic analysis and targeted photo cinematography to deliver a cutting-edge, delightful news experience.
